The Lokomotivfabrik der St.E.G. / the Locomotive Factory of the Privileged Austro-Hungarian State Railway Company Vienna was the first plant set in Austria, in 1839, from the many others after.
Revolutionary steam locomotives were made there (FAHRAFELD, VINDOBONA, WIEN-RAAB).
John Haswell, the first manager of that factory (1840 – 1882) made one of the main contributions to developing Austrian steam locomotive production.
