The first one, called PRINCIPELE CAROL / PRINCE CAROL (series 704.401, former initial plate number ā 14.) was repealed in 1970. The two locomotives were the first directly developed by the local engineers of the U.D.R. S.A. / Steel Works and Domains of Resita. And also the first one designed and manufactured as so in Romania.
