CFR 131.003

That series called PRAIRIE is the outstanding creation of the engineers in Resita, integrally designed and manufactured there.

It was created after a study made by those engineers and the benefiter, C.F.R. / Romanian Railways. The 67 engines made between 1939 and 1942 exclusively in Resita were set for combined transport (passenger and freight) on secondary short tracks in mountainous and hilly areas.
